Well I think i've found it...after searching for almost the past year for a GSX/GST, I lucked up and found a 90 1st Gen Laser for $500.
Not w/o it's problems however. It has two engines that come with the sale, one essentially has the crankwalk issue and the other could possibly run. So I could be looking at a new engine. Anyone have a possible cost range?
The other engine he says was running before it was pulled...I'll have to check this out. It has some minor cosmetic damage but other than that the body and interior are straight.
Here's his info from the ad: Both turbo motors Engine1: Pulled from a wrecked 1g 122k Miles, ran prior to being pulled in short block form, can provide head and all pieces, with felpro gasket kit No turbo (was pretty wasted) 6bolt Engine 2: Head is screwed up due to broken camshaft, essentially had the same effect as a crank walk 6bolt No turbo Unknown on the internals... never broke down engine. Block appears to be in good shape. 6bolt
Does this seem like a worthy project car? It's my first attempt at anything like this and it seems like a great deal. I'm assuming that since these are the Turbo engine this is the 2.0L GST model, although it could be just the base. I couldn't tell from the pictures.
