2nd gen head on 1st gen Turbo dsm

Hey I have a 94 talon tsi that has rod knock and I am planning on getting another engine. I found a cheap 2nd gen turbo motor JUST to get it Back on the road. What i was wondering is will that bolt up in the car (physically, or electrically)? Or can I just use the 2nd gen block and my 1gen head/intake? Thanks for you input

you can do the block, and bolt on the 1g head, OR port the 2g head intake ports to match the 1g intake manifold. From what I understand the 2g head ported flows better then a 1g head once ported on the intake side.
