what would be the cause of my car not boosting in first gear, and only boosting to like 5 psi in 2nd gear. but in 3rd gear it boost right up to 15psi??

got the exact same problem....i have no clue why and im sure my exaust has no leak...i got 2.5" 02 with dump...2.5" downpipe with 3" catback i thought it would build boost quicker..hmmmm

think about how a turbo works

what feeds it?

the exaust gas,... and in first or second, the load on the engine is much less, so the engine produces much less exaust,.... and as you go up in gears, or if your driving uphill, your max boost will increase... thats why you always need to set your boost on the freeway, and not on the streets, so that you dont set it to 18+ stock in 2nd or 3rd, only to find out in 5th your running 22ish stock... aka kaboom....LOL... anyways, dont worry about it, except for the guy only getting 5 psi, unless your going by the stock gauge, you have a leak or something, cuz i see 13-14 in 1st, 15 in 2nd, 16-17 in 3rd, not sure about 4th, and 17.5ish in 5th....(i need some fuel mods...... )

edit: forgot to mention that if you dont believe me, try creating boost in neutral,... where there is close to no load on the engine....

you could have an exaust leak in your exaust manifold, which is the only part of the exaust that affects boost... if you had a leak in any of that other stuff your boost wouldnt change that much.. unless you get boost creep cuz of it or something

hmmm i dont see any cracks or anything on top but i have to look at the bottom of it i guess..better yet take it out and inspect it :(

was the car siting around for a while, possibly around moisture?
your clutch is slipping.
this is either because it has moisture built up on it, or it is just going,
drive it, and see if it goes away :thumb:
