hi,
i am interested in putting 18" motegi MR-7 wheels on my 1991 plymouth laser. my only problem is i do not know if they will fit in the wheel well with tires. if anyone out there has 18" wheels on their laser....please let me know so and also tell me what size tire you have on the wheel. i would also like to know how snugly they fit in the wheel well. if 18's dont fit i guess i will have to go for 17 inch wheels. what is a good size tire that would fit a 17" wheel?

thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me

jerome

You can pysically fit a tire of about an inch more diameter if you don't go much wider, say 225/50/17. This has a diameter of about 25.9" vs. the stock 24.9". I had 245/40/18s for a while, which are 25.7".

i was just wondering what size tire and rim package should i get to get a similiar look to this guys.

oh yeah its on a 1Ga talon. i plan to also drop the car with either eibach springs or the cheap megan racing kit.

They look like 17s.

I say that for 2 reasons: 1) The tire sidewall is too thick for it to be 18s and 2) the big brake kit fits 17"+ wheels.

yeah i found his profile but if i go to a wheel and tire web site, they dont have that size, but i will check out the road race forums and see what i can find, because thats what i want to do with my talon.

i am looking to get a good rim and tire SIZE combo. i have a 97 gst. its lowered about 2-2.5 inches. how big of a rim should i get and what size tires should i wrap them in.

Do a bit of research on rim size, accommodating tire size, and offset. I run a +40mm, 17x7, 235/40/17 without any rubbing on coilovers. I have also ran 235/45/17, 17x7, +38 on my old FWD with no rubbing (tokico shock/spring).

I run 225 40s on my 18s with no rubbing with a 2 inch drop, it fills up the wheel well extremely nicely too

With that amount of lowering (and corrected camber) you will probably want to stay with narrower tires, like 225's and higher offset wheels, like +45mm.

when i get the rims, should i get a 4 wheel aliment asap then? i dont know when the last time its been done.

how about a 1g fwd i have 17 inch rims and its stock ride height the tires i have leave alot of room i would like to fill the wheel wheels what size tires will fit and will a little more fit in back than in front .what about spacers to move the rim out a little will that help put more tire.i just dont like that ricer empty wheel well look with the big 14 inch rims

Putting larger rims on a stock suspension will not 'fill the wheel gap' as you think. The only way to properly get the 'lowered look' is to actually lower the look.

My offset is +42, it leaves a wheel gap about a half inch all the way around the wheel and looks perfect. I'll get a picture sometime today or tomorrow if I can.

I picked up these wheels for a good price. Im not sure if they fit, I read about offset but Im still confused. The rims are 17" and measure 8 inches from lip to lip. The backspacing appears to measure 5.75". Will these fit with the appropriate tire?

The tires on them are 225/55/17 snow tires. They definitely wont fit.
