okay so I've been looking around and found a 3g eclipse how ever the shredder took her before I could extract her lifters. anyway I was looking on the net for other vehicles that carry this 3g lifter in another make and model. I came across this guy and was wondering if anyone else has seen this. Thoughts and concerns?

What does everyone think is this a common practice?

but this guy is saying the revised lifers flood the top end and starve the bottom end. Id imaged if you had high oil pressure this revised lifter would help.

I swapped out a set of the 3g revised lifters for the Keltalon modded 1g lifters, and I have no added valve train noise. As far as I can tell Keltalons mods work and work well...

FWIW I run 3g revised lifters on a 4g64 with a BSE and no squirters. I get noise only when it's really cold out usually, otherwise i might get a slight bit of noise that goes away in a minute or so. It actually seems to be more noisy when the pressure is high on a cold start; it quiets down once the pressure is below about 60psi or so in my case. I plan on getting the HLA soon though because of the extra amount of oil going to the head due to me running a 2.0 turbo OFH with my setup.

I'm not looking to replace them unless I have to. Im doing the prep work if the parts are there at the salvage yard id retrieve them. just looking at this video the 1g lifters seem to work great how ever cause of the small jet at the top of them if can lead to a plugged lifter thus burn out a lifter and damaging one. This form post was just purely to see what others think about this mod and if its a good idea or if its a bad idea that's all. Its was meant to get people talking about what they have done.

The old school way we did it was get an empty butter container, or any plastic container for food storage. You fill that with diesel and one at a time, you stick a straightened out paperclip in the top hole to free up the mechanism, then 'plunge' the entire top of the lifter, while submerged in the diesel fuel. Cleans them out good as new if you take your time, spend a little time on each one, etc.

I personally have a brand new head, so I went with brand new lifters, and I obviously can't get brand new 1g lifters, so I had to use 3g (even though I do have 3 sets of used 1g lifters here).

I'm just not putting used stuff in a brand new oem head.
