1g turbo on a 2g

I have a friend tring to sell me a 1g turbo to put on my 1996 spider gst. Is it worth doing this. he wants to sell me the turbo for 50$ is it hard to swap them and what do i need to tools. if anyone can give me any info on this subject please do. thankyou.

well first this should be in the newbie forum. Problem Diagnosis means a problem with your car not a question.

ok well it really depends if your friends car is an auto or a manual. if its a stick the turbo you would be getting is a 14b and while it is no monster, it is much nicer to have than the t-25 that you have in your car now. it also depends on the condition of the turbo. shaftplay? wastegate passage cracks? wastegate actuator funtionality? however if all is well with it, as many still are, it is a great upgrade for $50 and with just a little more you can have it installed. look into a stinless oil supply line(Road Race) gaskets (if you need them) and a J-pipe(ebay) you can re use most of the gaskets and the water lines and oil return line on your t-25 if they are still in good condition. the best part about that little 14b is that it is still within the abilities of your stock 2g fuel system.
