After all the work getting my transmission stuff done I go to bolt it back in and found this...

The mount doesnt reach the transmission.
Its either sitting too high or the holes do not line up at all. Almost as if the mount needs to be lower.
I noticed before I removed the transmission this mount was at an angle but I assumed it was because the trans was being held in with hopes and dreams instead of real hardware.

Am I missing something? Wrong mount? Something seriously broken?

Boosted fab makes brackets, I’m sure you can find some used ones too though.
I did see the boosted fab ones but they are 3x the price of used ones. I cant justify that cost on a basic street car.
I have already found some used ones for about 100$ total front and rear. Going to go with that.

Mounts showed up. Gave them a quick spray with some paint and swapped them out. Everything lines up as it should now. Thanks to all that helped!

Great news! How did you repair the stripped threads in the case?
Wonder how the car ended up with wrong mounts to begin with.
Well since I had already pulled 2 helicoils out I decided using the OEM thread size was not going to work. I had to go to the next size up that fit which was a massive M16. Luckily there is enough meat in that particular hole to do this. On the plus side that bolt will never be ripped out again.

As for the wrong mounts. My best guess would be this engine came from a Galant and the mounts were used. I found out I have a switchable transfer case from I believe a Galant VR4. Sadly not a switchable transmission though.
