1g tranny in a 2g

Probably a noob question but will a awd tranny from a 92-93 1g work in an awd 7 bolt 2g?

2g's have a vss and a 1g tranny has a cable. The internals are the same!!

I dont know about a 7botl but I did a 6bolt swap and fabed my 1g tranny in my 95 tsi.
I haad to cut off the passenger side mount and mount the 1g bracket in its place. Then the rear mount
had to to drill new holes to move the mount to the right.For the front mount I had to bolt a plate with two holes to put the mount on .

The drivers side mount just drops in.
It works fine had no problems with it!
