Okay I have been looking for a while now and can't find an answer...so I began my awd swap but I am only installing the subframe and gas tank right not because I don't have the awd tranny and manual rear diff.. So my question is.. Would a 1g(90-94) manual awd transmission, t case, and diff bolt on to a 2g('97) subframe? I already have the 97 driveshaft.. the reason I want to use the 1g driveline is because they're a lot cheaper and easir to come by..
Thanks

You NEED a 2g trans for your car. 1g cars have three engine mounts and one trans mount. 2g cars have three trans mounts and one engine mount. So if you took a 1g trans and put it on a 2g car, you'd only have the driver and passenger side mounts and no front or rear mounts.

u know for anyone who has made a frame u all know that you can make the mount werever u need so

Right, but most people aren't willing to fabricate a one-off subframe just to use a 1G tranny in a 2G car. Afterall, then whole purpose of trying to use a 1G tranny (in this instance) is because they're cheaper - which would be heavily negated by fabricating a subframe.

The main issue is that if you're running a 7-bolt block and a 1G tranny, then there's no place at all to bolt the roll stops to, even if you could fabricate soemthing. At least if you're running a 6-bolt block, you could fab some mounts to bolt to the block.

I have put a 1g awd tranny in a 2g before. Granted it had a 6 bolt swap so I just have to relocate and fab up the 3 mounts. I'm unsure if the rear. Diff will work tho.

Okay thanks for all the info :D. I'll just find a 2gb tranny, tcase and rear diff...so i got the whole subframe mounted(it really isnt that bad of a swap LOL and the gas tank. The exhaust is next.. I just need help with the freaking wiring for the fuel pump and fuel sending unit :(... Does anyone have the CORRECT way to do this?? I was thinking about using the wire harness from the gsx but i'm unsure as to how much of the harness i need? Do i need the whole harness including the lights and speakers and all that bs?..i dont really wonna splice any wires unless it its totally needed..
Please help i want to fire her up again haha.

You can use the GSX Wiring Harness.
You need all the wiring, (tail lights, speakers, ABS, If you have it).

It is easy to get it out, It just unplugs from the Fuse Box.
I am on the middle of the Conversion.
Check My Thread It shows the Wiring.

Yeah i have the wire harness out of the gsx but its kind of hacked :(. The pervious owner tried to install a security system in it or something...is the harness a direct swap? Just wondering....does anyone have a link to the wiring diagram?? Because i already cut the two clips. And the link i have says there is a 6 pin clip and a 2 pin clip? Im not sure what 2 pin clip theyre talking about because i have a 6 and an 8 pin? Does anyone have pictures?
