Here i have shown some pics of my new purchase(a 1g tb) that I got off the trader for $55 shipped. I need to know some things about this though before the swap such as the tb half shafts(the bar holding it in place) i need to know where get a thinner one so that its not taking away from the 60mm(hopefully boring out to 64mm) opening. Secondly I would like to know if i take this to a machine shop what would be the max they could bore this out to and where would I find that size throttle body plate to replace the stock 60mm one??And lastly is it possible to get this powdercoated or anadiozed????

PS:pics will be posted later this afternoon

RRE does this, you should give them a call. More importantly, make sure you port the intake manifold inlet to match the 1G TB and gasket. Good luck.

Well oldman it seems that your are my gaurdian angel cause anytime I have a question you are there to answer it, but hey I know about the service that rre provides but the cost of that worries me;250 I beleive! And for that price I could get an accufab. So my original question is would it be worth it and would it be better to just get it to a machine shop and have them bore it out and the other question is whats the max you can go on the 1g TB

No need to remind me, I know I'm a postwhore. ROFL

I payed a machine shop $100 plus shipping for my, the throttle plate sticks because some areas was brushing the wall so I had to dremel it a little. The plate screws were thicker than what I was hoping for as well. Not bad for the price.

This, I have no clued.

Email Steve Monroe - [email protected] . I bought a bored throttle body from him off ebay and he does great work for good price. I'd ask him about boring it to 63mm plus the half shaft mod (makes around 65.5 mm air flow) and clean & beadblasting. Here's some of his work:

Well matt thanks man, I hit steve up with an e-mail got back with me pretty quickly, directed me to his page and then voila! Everything I wanted to know was on his page except one or two specific details that I am awaiting an answer on as we speak, but I have decided to go with the 65 mm bore from his page and hopefully will be sastified with the second stage of my 1g tb swap, I got the tb for 55 off of the trader and now 160 for the boring machining and blocking of the coolant hoses going to the tb. Good deal thanks for the replies and hey oldman what do you think about that half shaft mod??cause ive heard stories of them on here of them breaking and shit because of constant opening and closing of the tb at high boost or high rpm

Sorry, I know nothing about it. :coy: Do say hello to Steve for me, he did my TB as well. ROFL Small world.

Well then oldman what size did you end up going with ???Cause he offers a 63mm and a 65mm now and I was wondering which size you decided to go with considering my goals are nothing above 400awhp and my ideal setup will be a 50-trim with a 2.3/2.4 motor fully built and midly ported if any head, with 750's and the tuning solution you suggested to me a while ago(afpr+maft+chipped ecu)and some alky/water injection.

 He did not have the 65mm option last year... However, I would ask him more questions about it because there are several areas where there are just no more materials left to bore. If you're satifield after speaking to Steve, why not go with 65mm.

Glade to see you doing this right with patience. :thumb:
