I am looking to replace the suspension on my 90 gsx the car has 82k on it and is on its second set of struts. When i bought the car person who sold it to me told me i was better of replacing the struts back to stock he put on the KYB GR-2's on it and the rode like crap and didnt last verry long. I want a more sporty suspension that i can autocross with and some time go to the drag strip. I also want to keep stock height due to the 17's i usually run hit the fender when the supsension bottems out in a turn. Can any one help me with recomedations for a suspension set up? I also and looking for strut mounts dose anyone make a set with polyureitane instead of the normal rubber? Thanks

Dont use polyurethane bushings unless you get hardcore the car will ride like complete crap.

Start off with some Eibach springs since you probably have some cheapies on your car right now. Gnab a set of KYB AGX's all the way around i have done the adjustables in the rear and GR-2's up front and and rode like crap...you need the adjustables up front. I have 17's on my car and they fit fine and its dropped 2-2.5 inches. Ya it costs a little to do so but it is worth the satisfactory ride quality.

I just finished installing the prothane kit, KYB AGX, and pro kit on the front of my 1990 GSX. I noticed a huge improvement in handling and it didn't seem that harsh. I put in the sub frame bushings, control arm bushings, sway bar bushings, new ball joints, steering gear, steering gear bushings, and tie rod ends. It drove like a new car, completely different and well worth the time and money invested. I have the car on jackstands now redoing the rear of the car. I will be putting in new upper and lower ball joints, poly bushings, rm rear saybar. I am also replacing all the calipars, pads, and rotors.

My theory is you must have a solid foundation before you can build a good street car.

I am not worried about the poly bushings being hard core this is NOT a daily driver thats what i have my 06 ram and 05 kawasaki zx12r for this car is for show and speed. Money is not an issue b/c I have to replace 16 year old parts and spending the $ on better parts will be worth it b/c I wount have to up grade later. This car is compleetly gutted when i say compleetly gutted i mean no drive train electrial harness nothing but a shell I have to replace everything due to hurricane katrina so if I am going to fix this car I am going to go all the way and not half ass it I want to end up with the car set up right and am planing to make 400+ hp but for the moment I am tryiing to get the back to road worthy condition so I have to drop in a new motor, transmission, transfercase, and want to replace the suspension and busshings while there is no weight on the car

Your telling me two different things, you don't want to half ass this car, but at the same time you just want to make it raod ready. You should take your time, buy quality parts and build this thing the right way. This will be a lot cheaper than paying for crap parts now and later upgrading to good stuff. If you want to enhance the handling get a good set of coil overs or a quility strut spring combo and install poly bushings. If you want a stock ride do the GR2s and stock spings. If you don't know already the GR2s are basic oem replacements and do not work well with perfomance springs. Either way pay now or pay later....you still pay.

no you misunderstand i am am going to do the suspension and cradle busshing but i am also planing on a big brake kit wich i am going to hold off on and i have a running engine i am going to put in and have another engine i am going to build later I dont want to half ass it as you put but i cant aford to do everything at one time money wount be a problem just have other thing i have to do at the same time like rebuild my house which also went 9' under water so as much as i want to do it all at one time i have to have this car moveable incase another hurricane come my way.
