Is there a difference in the 1g AWD Automatic starter from the 1g AWD 5-speed starter?

Is there a difference in the 1g AWD Automatic starter from the 1g AWD 5-speed starter?

They look identicle but the 5spd starter has a slightly longer gear on top to make contact with the flywheel.

I dunno if this will help ya or not but ppl told me that a 1.8 FWD Auto starter wouldn't work on a 2.0 FWD 5speed I have been runnin it now for atleast 9 month's with no problems.
