Stoney Creek,
Well here's the run down...

1) Rad fan stopped working...dead motor
2) Installed a rad fan motor working...when tested works great
3) Replaced the thermo switch...lower rad sensor nearest to the rad fan
4) Replaced thermostat and gasket and rad cap
5) Coolant flush...
6) Replaced fuse

And still not working...not sure what I could do to get this up and going.

Driving on a steady speed temperature is fine, as soon as I get into traffic it slowly heats up and gets passed the 212 mark.

Any ideas what is still causing the over heating?

Will

Only two things left to do...
1) Check all your hoses for even tiny leaks as they can cause overheating.
2) Run a compression test. You might have a small headgasket leak.

Post back with your results.

Things left to do...

1) Checked rad hoses, thermostat gasket area for leaks
nothing found
2) Compression test...
To be completed tomorrow.

UPDATE...

I was certain that all of the above checked out...later that night I was unable to sleep.
So back to the car I went with my trouble light...

Sure enough the thermostat housing gasket was not holding...it was wet! I'll be damn.

Cleaned up that entire area, made sure it was bone dry & continued to put a thin film of high heat rtv and then the gasket. Hand tighten the bolts, & allowed to cure.

Roughly 1 hour later, proceeded to tighten the bolts to spec...12-14
Added fluid and left it till today.

The morning drive to work was not good...temp gauge slowly made its way past the norm. operating temps. BUT on the way home, I could hear the rad fan.

Got off the hwy to inspect things and no signs of leaks, and the rad fan was working like a trooper!!! :)

So, did some air escape to the over flow? or down the dump tube?
Cause the rad fan is working just fine...

Will look at it later tonight and give another update.

Well another update on this confusing Rad Fan Motor Issue...

The rad fan motor is now intermittent...I not sure what is happening? Any ideas?

Work's for a while and things are great...then hours later does not work and I am using the A/C fan to cool things down.

So...does anyone have ideas on what is happening? The compression test will be done today.

Will

Intermittent problems are hard to diagnose. I've had my lower rad sensor plug come loose before. Also you may want to check grounds and other harness connections.

On the hoist?
I would double check all the connections. Clean them out and put some dielectric grease in them to ensure a completely connection.
The sensor on the bottom of the radiator.
And the fan connection.

What were your compression numbers.

Compression Test Results...

From Left to right cylinder...

150-155-145-145

For each cylinder I ran 3 test's and all the numbers came to be the same...

Also, prior to the test, looking through the plug hole, most of the cylinder's looked dry...however the last one could of been a little wet...very hard to tell. I mean it was not soaked with fluid.

So, what next?
