i have a 92' eagle talon esi. only mods are intake and exhaust. the problem i am having is that the motor does not want to start when it is cold. it will crank over for like 15-20 seconds then finally catch and spudder as like it is being "choked out" i have replaced EVERY sensor on the motor and coil pack w/ traistor pack. now the new addition to that problem is that for the past few days is it will only start if i spray carb/choke cleaner in the intake and now it idles lower and is some what irradic. also when i give it gas it will almost stahl if i push the pedal too fast. this all happens when the motor is cold. and wont go away untill its is up to temp, and even then if i shut it off and wait like 10min it wont want to start. i have checked fuel, spark and eveything is just like it is supposed to be. im out of ideas and i dont want to get rid of this car cuase i love it to death. thanks alot!!

i did everything that link said. i even bought a new coolant temp sensor just to make sure and still the no luck. like i said it only does it when the engine is cold , when she's warmed up it starts right up.. i am completely out of ideas of to what it can be. oo ya the cel is on eversence it has started

If you haven't pulled power from the ecu, the code is still probably stored. It should still show up when you do the code retrieval.

This happened to me on my 1G turbo. Idle was crappy until the ECU went into default mode after about 15 min and then the car would drive great. Sounds to me like the capacitors in your ECU are leaking. Remove the ECU and open it to reveal the circuit board. If the capacitors are leaking, it will smell like fish and you will be able to see some damage. If they are leaking you will have to have them replaced at an electronics repair shop or you can buy a new ECU. This is a well known issue so you should be able to find out more by doing a search. Good luck.

i all ready checked the ecu everything is fine. Today at work, i parked my car in the sun with the hood up soo the motor is in direct sunlight and it warmed it decent . i let it sit there for close to 6 hours so i no it cooled down completely to outside temp plus the temp of the sun on the motor.i when to start it , it still started rough but not as bad as it would if the hood was closed and cooled to actually temp. so after doing this ive come to the conclusion that is somthing to do with a temp sensor somewheres. but i already replaced the coolant temp sensor twice just to make sure. still nothing . is there any other temp sensor i ve missed? ive got to figure this out its driving me nutts!
