I have a spare N/T fuel pump from my part-out car and wondering if it will work in my turbo car. Thought I read it wouldn't awhile back but just checked autozones site and they list the same pump for both N/T + turbo fwd 1g's

I put a n/t fuel pump in my 1g fwd turbo laser a long time ago and never had a problem. But the car was completly stock, so that might be why I never had any problems!

The fuel pumps are different. I'm not sure of the exact specs but I do know that the n/t pump flows less. If you raise the boost at all the turbo pump isn't even sufficient so I won't trust the n/t pump.

Hope this helps!

That does help because without a logger and raising boost a few psi i NEED to have a FP that is right.

Btw does anybody think running 14 lbs with no logger and only mods being no cat with K+N air filter is risky especially without doing FP re-wire? I do have a real boot gauge tho.

Can you do it? Yes. Is it risky? Yes. I'd play it safe with my engine. I would want to have a logger, to see knock, or at least a wideband, to see the AFR. You don't want to get too lean and without a larger fuel pump, or even a rewire, you most likely will be lean at 14 psi.

Our cars run super rich under wot (wide open throttle) anyway though. At least do a pump re-wire. I wouldn't really worry about not being able to log, but that's just me. Most don't have any problems, but that doesn't guarantee that you won't. Basically it's your call.

Is the FP re-wire a pita? Right now I'm still at stock boost but just wondering when the time comes whether it's real simple to do..

About the wideband o2 is that something you're constantly looking at or just on WOT higher rpm pulls or is it like the temp gauge where you look at it now and then?

I did run a NT pumpe at first (car was NT, converted to turbo...) but it reached it limit at 9psi Boost!
Rewiring gives enough gas for 10psi...
Changed to Turbo FP, 15PSI without any problem (still rewired)... than changed to Evo pump, car was running PIG RICH with turbo FP S-AFC settings, so the turbo FP was also on eged of its capacitie.

Thanks for that info :)
