i just picked this N/a talon up for thirty bucks. replaced the throttle body and plugs and it ran fine. It ran absolutely fine. i took her all the way to newport oregon and back. 1400 miles. Heres the problems. I let my buddy take it out and he called me saying its acting like its not getting gas. so i took my truck and trailered it back. I have spent the last two days trying to get her running right. it has a hard idle, will not start easily when cold, once started the battery dies slowly. i replaced the alternator and it continues to die. I am sure this is something simple and I'm knowledgeable of DSMs but before i start tearing things apart i want to know what you guys think.

I realize this may seem simple but it only happened after the alternator was screwed

Have you checked the alternator fuse? It's a 80A. It'll prevent your battery from receiving a charge. Also, throw a mutimeter on the car and check the voltage, then get the car started and measure it again. You should see an increase in voltage. Running it should be around 14V.

Maybe he ran it hard an fried the rings, you never know.
