As the title says, when its cold outside, it takes 15-20 turnovers before she will start up. Then starts up no problem afterwards after running a bit. While Idling, the car starts off extremely rich, afr gauge shows 9 with black plumes of smoke, and after a minute slowly goes up After a while to 14ish. When I shut the car off my fuel pressure gauge slowly drops, 1psi every 5 seconds. I have an automotive fpr, possible culprit for pressure drop. Things done/checked to help my situation. (Utilizing MAFT)
New fuel pump seal
New fuel filter
Scantool shows CTS temp at 29°F (Outside temperate was actually 19°f)
New spark plugs/wires
Tried different ECU

Can't say much about drivability, don't want to risk damaging anything until I get my idle figured out. No CELs. I did have one before for fpr solenoid but I haven't gotten that in a while

Compared to my uncles GST, his starts up almost immediately and doesn't run super rich, similar mods.

Thanks DSMers. Starting automotive tech classes in a month, so bare with me for now :D

Have you taken apart the AFPR to make sure the diaphragm/gasket is aligned correctly and not pinched? That can cause the issues you describe.

FPR Aeromotive pressure fix - Club DSM Canada

Could also be a fuel line pinched somewhere, most likely at the return line.

Have you pressurized the lines when the car is off using the fuel pump check connector to check for leaks and verify it holds pressure?

What do you have the AFPR base fuel pressure set at?

I have taken apart my fpr once before to inspect the diaphragm, no rips. Idk if it was pinched though, however the ball and hole looked pretty clean. My fuel pressure is at 44PSI w/ vacuum disconnected.
Some additional stuff.. Decided to try and drive it this morning, (warmed up) runs a little rough and laggy until it hits boost, then it really hauls ass. So anything below boost isn't so great.. Vacuum leak? Also I noticed my MAFT has a steady blinking green light that I never noticed before... Maybe loss of rpm signal, and possibly going into backup mode?

Oh also car wants to die when coming to a stop. No dead ISC coils, maybe biss out of adjustment? TPS? I bet all of my problems are being caused by a single simple problem

It is never a bad idea to do a boost leak test or check the tps when experiencing driveability issues.

I have no experience with a MAFT, but I don't think the green one is supposed to blink. It should be dim under 1000rpm and brighter higher than that but not blink.

Rough warm starts can also be affected by the fuel pressure solenoid.
