1G ISC ruin an ECU?

I know the 91-99 ISC's are all compatible and the 1990 is different. I'm currently using a 1990 throttle body in my 95 gst 6 bolt swap. I tried bolting the 2G ISC motor to the throttle body and it just snapped the mounting tab off of the ISC. Basically I'm left with the 1990 ISC, which plugs in just fine to the 95 harness.

If I were to turn my key forward, is it possible it could ruin my ECU or would the 1990 ISC just not function right? Is there anyway to make the 1990 work? Is there anyway to fix the tab on the 95 ISC or maybe just bolt one side in and silicone the other side? Thanks.

Only somewhat related, but why are you so stuck on using the '90 throttle body/ISC? The '91-'94 throttle body is better, and will use a normal ISC that is known to work just fine. I am just curious.

The '90 ISC is identical internally as any '91-'99, it just looks different because the connector is outside of the body of the ISC and on a harness. Test the ISC using a multimeter and make sure nothing is shorted, if it tests good then it won't damage your ECU.

I already wired up my tps sensor and will double check the coils in the ISC to make sure they aren't shorted. The reason I'm using a 90 throttle body is because I have 2 of them laying around. I live in a small town where junk yards within a 200 mile radius don't carry turbo DSM parts.

I have to HUNT down people that might be parting theirs out. It's easier on my wallet when I use things I already have. At the moment I'm strapped for cash so I have to use what I can. Thanks for the replies. Was a little scared to try and start the car not knowing.
