1G 1g headlight problems

My buddy just bought a 1990 Plymouth laser rs turbo and when we bought it the headlight wouldn’t go up or down with the button. I don’t hear the motor activating or anything. The other one works fine currently. Before, it would just need to be pulled up and it would stay up but now it will just fall back down. I was wondering if anyone would know if this just a motor problem or if it could be something else. Thanks, I can post pictures or videos if it helps at all

So one of the popup headlights works but the other doesn't?

Have you checked the links between the motor and the headlight?
Have you checked the power to the motor to see if it's getting power when the light should pop up?

Do you have the FSM so you can follow the diagnostic steps in it?

We haven’t really tried anything yet because this is our first car with pop ups. So we will try that and I’ll get back to you. Appreciate it man

Each pop-up headlight has a mechanical mechanism that holds the headlight firmly in position, either open or closed. There is a small black cover (see pic) you pull off, and under it is a red knob you can turn to manually crank the headlight up or down as a safety measure in case the motor fails. If your headlight just falls down, part of the mechanical assembly has fallen apart or broken. You will need to disassemble and inspect the mechanism.
