Alright so I am in the process of swapping a 1G head onto my 97. Reason I am doing this is because so many exhaust studs were broken in the old head I just gave up. So I bought a new head for it, but after looking closer found out it was for a 1G.
So I have the intake manifold and TB, IM gasket, OEM composite head gasket, TB gaskets, and exhaust manifold gasket ready to go. I am just waiting on the 1G water pipe and T-stat housing to start bolting it together.
My question is, since I am halfway done and the head is off, what should I change/upgrade while I am here?
I don't want to drop my oil pan being I have an AWD and this is being done in my little garage. I have a new timing belt, balance shaft belt, accessory belts, and pulleys etc. Also have a new fuel filter but that is proving to be tough to break loose.
Any info is helpful, and if it matters the motor has 91k on it.
The mods in my profile are up to date, or at least will be when this swap is done
