i'm sure that this question has been asked on here before, but i haven't had much luck finding it. will a 1g head bolt on to a 2g block, or is it easier just to do an entire engine swap?

thanks

your 2g head will do just fine, has your timing belt broke?? if not keep your 2g head. just do the whole 6 blot swap when your 7 shits on you.

1g is a great upgrade to a 7bolt. you'll need to re-thread the head to fit onto the 7bolt block. and prot the 2g exhaust manny.
Um, no. See rule #3.

Mis-information is the route of all evil.

A 1g head will bolt onto a 2g block and vis-versa. Theres no RETHREADING OF ANYTHING. YOU CAN NOT USE 1G HEAD STUDS/BOLTS ON A 2G HEAD, unless you modify the 2g head and then why would you?. You do have to rewire the CAS.

Do not port the 2g head to match the 1g manifold. If your going to do a swap use the 6-bolt block and 2g head.

If you can't do a simple search on this your retarded. :p

the 1g head will fit on the 2g 7bolt block. but the stud holes are diffrent sizes between the 2. the 7bolts have a 11mm stud sze and the 6bolt a 12mm both are diffrent thread patterns. i had it ass backwards. if you were putting a 2g head on a 1g block you would have to tap the stud holes 1mm over.

you dont NEED to port the manny, but it never hurts to do so

Again, beaten to death.... :barf:
It would be useless to install a 1G head and keep the 2G intake manifold ported or not...there are so many cheap 1G intake manifolds laying around..

I put a 2g head on a 6bolt block last week and didn't have to largen the holes but it was a somewhat tight fit.
