Ottawa,
I am in the process of installing a 1G head on my 2G block. I have a few questions that I coudn't find answers to through the seach function.

1) What cam gears to use, 1G or 2G?

----------------------------------------------

2) Will a PTE SCM61 TO4E compressor cover clear the water return line nipple hanging down from the 1G turbo water pipe?

This is the location that the turbo water return line would normally bolt to the water pipe when running a water cooled turbine housing. In my case, I will be just plugging it up if I can find a 91-94 water pipe, or using it as a water retun line for the oil filter housing using my 90 turbo water pipe.

------------------------------------------------

3) Will a 5/8 NPT plug block the water bolt hole in the 2G block?

I just switched to a 1g head myself...

1) The cam gears don't matter. Since the timing belt is the same for all years, the cam gears are the same.

2) I had to rotate the compressor cover, and it still pinched it but it did work.

3) Find out whatever size and thread the oil drain bolt is. It will fit here. I'm pretty sure thats what I did a while ago.

when swapping a 1g head on a 2g block is drilling out the aligning holes and stud holes a little bigger all that is needed? what size do i drill them out to?
