Can I, should I, reuse my cyl head bolts when its time to put my cyl head back on? Thanks...

you CAN, i did..havent had any problems...i dont think the 1g bolts stretch like the 2g bolts do, check them out and make sure they arent stretched...otherwise if you feel more comfortable, throw some arp's on

Yea, head studs hold more pressure. 2g head bolts are torque to yield so they stretch more, I don't recall the 1g ones being like that so you *could* re-use them...I figure I'd rather pay $80 and have peace of mind and not have to rip the head off again to replace something thats broken. If yours look fine and your not gonna be runnin much more than stock anything, I wouldn't worry too much about them.

Keep in mind that if you decide to use ARP studs you need to do some modificatons to the power stearing pump bracket and the bracket that holds the front side of the left engine mount to allow the head to be dropped directly on without removing the brackets. This will also help if you ever have to pull the head again. Check for interferance with the last exhaust stud.

What does everyone torque their 1g Head bolts to? 90 or 100 ft lbs?

SHould you let the engine go through a few heat cycles and then re-torque?

Thanks,
Travis W.

Go by what the ARP spec sheet says. It should have come with your studs. I think I did 80ft lbs with Moly lube.

i torqued it to whatever arp said to do it (can't remember right now) then went back 500 miles later just to make sure everything was nice and tight

I just checked my notes in my service manual ARP torques to 80 Ft lbs with molly lube. Standard torque is 65-72 ft lbs. The service shop that works on them can't get people to bring back the car so re-torquing is not required by design. Food for thought ;)
