Ok, I bought a 91 gsx 4 months ago and it ran fine until one day i tried to start it and it sounded like it wanted to crank over but it never startedWTF So i started looking around the forums to see if any one else had the same problem that i had. I found one that had sounded like my problem and they fixed it by repairing or replacing the ECU. So i take out the ECU and lookie what we have here busted capacitors:hmm: So i have one of friends that is an electrician find the right capacitors for it and install them, i install the ECU and it starts right up and runs great:hellyeah: But two weeks later the problem came back and again the car wont start:banghead: So i gave up on trying to figure the problem on my own since im a noob and brought it into the dealership for an inspection(just in case if it was a damn sensor i didnt know about was bad) They looked at it and informed me that there was an aftermarket By pass key system that was installed in it and when they removed the system they forgot to undue the wiring for it:notgood: So they removed the wiring and bada bing it starts again:applause: Two weeks later (this morning) she wont start for me again, with the same symptoms. Please help me i love driving it but i want her to be reliable.

The car is stock nothing aftermarket on it.

Start by checking the basics, spark and fuel. I would check for spark first, because it's easy to do. Then fuel, but you will need a pressure gauge for that. Use these results combined with searching your given symptom to ascertain an appropriate diagnostic route. Example, you test for spark and have none. You would then search "no spark" on the forums, compile some homework...gain some diagnostic experience in the process and hopefully fix your problem too.

Good luck

see if you can barrow another ECU for a while. i had an ECU that had the Caps replaced and it would run fine for a few days, then bam car would not start. i could get it to run again by unplugging the harness to the ecu and pluging it back in but it got old fast so i replaced the ecu.

Thank you guys on the help, i figured it out, i bought alittle 12V buzzer from radio shack and checked if my ECU was throwing any codes, lo and behold it shot back at me the Engine colant temp sensor was bad.OMG When i went to replace it the connection harness just fell off the wires.WTF so i snaged another one from the junk yard and connected it. Checked the ecu to see if it was still throwing the same code and it read no codes.:hellyeah: car starts every time now. RESOLVED
