By looking I want to say H-3, but I'm not sure. Anyone who has replaced them or knows for sure what they are please post. thanks.

Defiant - Why?

I ordered 880s because someone said thats what they were and when I got them I could tell right away they weren't the right ones. The Opened the fog up and they look kind of like an H3 with a special plug. Are these 894/885?

894s are 37½ watt. 885s are 50.
Ordered? Criminy, go to AutoGrandKragenChiefPepZone and buy them off the rack.
880s because someone said
"Someone"? Did that "someone" have a screen name of Defiant? :toobad:

Yup.
Next time, open the lamps first. The genie won't get away. :shhh:

haha ass OMG

I 'ordered' them because I didn't want yellow lights, I bought the same kind to match my headlights.

Yeah I know I should have looked when I asked another forum. But the guy said he was sure. Last time that happens.

i have to totally agree i got silverstars a little after when they came out and havent had any others since. they make everything look so much clearer at night not to mention i think they look best in a pack of headlights on the road

dont go with silverstars...they blew up after like 5 months in my old car...waste of money if u tell me...i had a pair of crappy ebay ones (blue hehe) an dthose lasted me over 2 years...

Because they're sub-wattage, most likely. Check for corrosion in your bulb sockets, and replace as necessary.

Stock are 894, but get 885 instead.

ok a few things here i just joined after being a 2 year reader of this forum. I want to say that ever since this site got redone with the rep points, all people do is complain and moan that i can't post there and recently have been seeing i recieved negative points and then the moderators have power trip over it. I kust want to say lets go back to the good old ways, back in the day when this was a friendly place, and no one complained about how the site was setup, people just complained about people (and there is nothing that can be done about that, its the internet it happens), now people complain about people and on how the site is made.

Now i am stepping to say poor kid who got bogus advice from some one who doesn't know what he is talking about. Because of you this kid went out and spent the money on the wrong bulbs. Nice one. I think your rep points should go back to rookie for not knowing the correct bulb number. It just ticks me off that you make some sarcastic remarks about stuff but you can't get a bulb number right. And yes the bulb starts with an H, so if it says H3 that is the number and you can pick those up at pepboys. It is not an 894, 895. Wish i would have seen this thread earlier.

They are hard to find because they are used mostly on European cars.

1g and 2g fog lamps are completely different much like the head lights

The H3 bulb will have a metal base and have a wire hanging off 894 and 895 will not.

So please excuse Defiant for his rudeness which cost you money (because you believed in him and he does have some good info) and a moderator needs to remove his rep points for not following the rules. Mainly no first hand experience

Perhaps you should have waited three.

Yes, we're here for the power. I can walk into any automotive shop on the planet, tell them who I am, explain what that means, tell them to nevermind all that, and buy a quart of oil for $3. Just like that. It's exhillarating.

Yes, we wish you'd stop complaining.
Now i am stepping to say poor kid who got bogus advice from some one who doesn't know what he is talking about.
WTF
Because of you this kid went out and spent the money on the wrong bulbs.
He ordered the wrong bulbs before he asked me. Foolishness on his part, but if he doesn't have enough beer, I'm not stopping by his house.

I think you should read before going off.
It just ticks me off that you make some sarcastic remarks about stuff but you can't get a bulb number right.
I know. I hate people who complain too much, too.
And yes the bulb starts with an H, so if it says H3 that is the number and you can pick those up at pepboys.
Are you aware this is on a TALON, not an Eclipse?
It is not an 894, 895. Wish i would have seen this thread earlier.
I wish you had, too. But then, my wish list would break the Wish Fairy's back.
They are hard to find because they are used mostly on European cars.
If you're referring to the usual foglight bulb, the H3, they're on the rack at Wal*Mart. Often in the 130W rating, if you're keen on distorting bulb housings.
1g and 2g fog lamps are completely different much like the head lights
No kidding.
The H3 bulb will have a metal base and have a wire hanging off 894 and 895 will not.
Yeah. Show me one fitting into a 1G Talon foglight.
So please excuse Defiant for his rudeness which cost you money (because you believed in him and he does have some good info)
It wasn't my idea for him to buy the wrong bulbs.
and a moderator needs to remove his rep points for not following the rules.
Go wild. I get the same pay either way.

Here's some photos of the parts in my beefy first hand.

And the picture of the fog light that defiant posted doesnt look like the ones on my 90 eclipse or 91 talon mine are a little rounded on the end and don't have an 894. I am not saying that it is an H3, but I know it looks similar to one. Sylvania doesn't even carry a replacement on it and I also called the dealer and they said it didn't list out a type. These are what mine look like.

I just tore my fog light off and it does have a form of a H3 bulb the # is 64146 but superceeds to a 64146bc which is a form of a H3 bulb. It is a 12 volt 35watt bulb and it has the same housing as a H3, also has a one wire hook up and is grounded to the base of where the bulb is held in by a spring.
