1G Engine Build

Hey everyone new to the forums and I have been searching around site and have found so many different builds I'm not sure what to build.

I have a 95 GSX 7 Bolt in it right now. I want to start building a 1G engine for this car that will be mostly street and of course who can say no to a street race. It will also be going to a track about 10 or more times a year.

I was thinking around 500horse. Now I don't want to spend money I don't need to on higher end parts that can handle more horse then I am going to be putting out.

Since I have a 2g engine already are there any parts that will work better then anything on the 1g as far as swapping them over or should I buy a complete 1g engine, pull it apart and start building from there?

for around 500horse is the stock internals good enough or should they be replaced? If so what brand do you recomend crank, rods, pistons are good for this?

I know these questions are probably answered many times over I just must not be looking in the right places so if anyone can throw some nice links at me that world be great.

Now as for the head what kind or cams, springs and such should be used?

Just duplicate the buschur stage 1.

It is basicly just a 6 bolt block with 2g pistons, stock rods, stock crank, and ARP studs and fasteners. If you can assemble everything your self then the cost should be really cheap. If you cannot then get the buschur unit. My first DSM had their stage 1 in it and had it not been for my own stupidity the ca would still be running. That car also dynoed at 398 AWHP. Just my .02

Yes everything will be build by me except the machine work that goes to a shop.

Another question I have that I keep reading about with people selling rods on ebay.

I see people saying to used the 1G rods with the 2G pistons. Why is this is you don't mind me asking?

Because the 1g rods are way stronger than 2g. They seem to fail way before 1g rods. Cost a little more to machine the rods to fit 2g pistons but way worth it. This combo is good up to 400whp and ive heard of people running almost 500whp.
