I bought the car a few weeks ago. It had been sitting for 2 years barely running, but the guy who owned it kept it well maintained except for the right corner lights which were broken and I could barely find replacements.

My goal is to reach 200hp but only after I repair and replace everything that is damaged (belts, hoses, filters, some bodywork, and small interior issues)

@Kryndon I see you’re laughing but he’s not wrong. Naturally aspirated is a different ball game.
I believe Bastard's comment was a joke about how a mere 200 hp is gonna be a nightmare to drive and maintain, also I am ASSUMING OP is going to be turboing his GS, I see that he is from Romania and he might have a 6 bolt in his 1G. over 180 hp on a 2L DOHC 4-banger is Honda territory, only for B16s and K20s. People have long tried to get meaningful N/A power out of a 4G63 but it's just not cut out for that. IF he was implying he wants to reach 200 hp as N/A, he will end up spending more than turboing or even buying a GS-T.

But yes, N/A really is a different game. Good luck to OP regardless of which path he chooses. Lots of good info on this forum to peruse through!

Thank you for leaving a comment! It is a 6 bolt and I do plan on turboing it, AT SOME POINT. I know it's going to take a lot of time and money both of which I don't have right now, so I'll do stuff like coilovers, and a new paint job, new rims (I don't know what kind of rims it has on right but I'll post a picture later).

Right now I'm working in Italy (classic Romanian activity) to get the money for the car and from October I'll be at college so I'll just drive the car on weekends. One of the reasons why I don't plan on doing crazy hp with it, just enough to be fun beside money.

These are the wheels, sorry i don't have close ups, i get better pictures when i get home in a few weeks.

Hah, yeah I'm also currently working in France (classic Bulgarian activity) to raise some more money for these cars 🤣

I actually like the wheels you have currently. They look sort of retro and fit the 1G in my opinion. Maybe paint the central section black also and it may look even better. Since you have a 6 bolt that's bulletproof and our European 6 bolts actually do have the oil squirters (I've taken one apart) so you could easily keep the stock 9.5:1 pistons and run a small turbo on it. Been done many times with great success and on a tight budget.

Good luck and stay safe from the heat waves in Italy!!!

Stock NT pistons are 9:1 unless the Euro versions had a different piston which wouldn’t surprise me but I’ve never seen anything else listed. I will say based on my experience if the engine’s healthy already I wouldn’t hesitate to throw boost at the non turbo pistons if done right, keep in mind technology has come a long way since people first started discussing it in the early 2000’s. I’ll say my original non turbo pistons seen over 400whp for multiple seasons and several thousand miles beating the absolute crap out of it, while that was mostly on e85 the last time it was on the dyno it made 454 on 93 octane pump gas, was going to go back and see if they’d take 600 on e85 but something else occurred before that and wiped it out, nothing related to the non turbo pistons and they still look perfectly usable to this day despite the age old myth “anything but wastegate pressure on a 14b will crack the ring lands!!”. I wouldn’t advise everyone go out and go to the same extreme, however depending on what you’re looking to do there’s things to be considered.

As far as the oil squirters go, more myths. No proof they ever actually helped anything however they also (obviously) don’t hurt anything. When the blocks were much more plentiful and cheap a few of the reputable shops (Buschur being one) actually preferred the non turbo blocks for their built bottom end packages as the theory was they didn’t help anything and it was oil better supplied to other places. The fact there are oil squirters will not make a difference in the world on how non turbo pistons hold up to the abuse.

These are the wheels, the caps say TenzoR but I can't find the exact model.

Small update, the thermostat blew up and the water started boiling, luckly it's only the thermostat and not the headgasket or something else, also I need to replace both CV axles which I can't find anywhere right now. Buuuuut besides that everything is fine🫶. I bought new wheels I'm gonna repaint it next week.

The headgasket is burned as hell guys, apparently it has been burned for the past year good thing i drove only a few times.

Kinda big small update, block is warped.
I'm trying to find a turbo engine and swap it in.

How do you know block is warped? Why not pull it and have it decked?
Took apart the engine to resurface the head and change the headgasket, tested the block too and the machinist said it might be to much warping to shave the block too
