Anyone have a pinout our wiring diagram for a 1g with the 6 speaker system? I.E. it has the speakers in the dash. My buddy has bought a car with a cut plug and needs some help wiring in a new radio.

If you can wait until tomorrow I can post up the diagram from alldata... what year and model is the car?

Here you go, as promised. These are the only diagrams in Alldata for the stereo in a 91. I've included the color code sheet so you know what you're looking at and looking for.

The dash speakers are wired in parallel with the doors and the speaker impedance is double that of the rears so that the impedance at the amp is the same front and rear.

Metra sells the both the radio and car side harnesses. Sounds like your friend could use both.

There is nothing for the plug that metra sells to plug in to. And no one around here carrys metra. Walmart does not even have the scosche kit for Mitsubishi anymore. If it is not GM, Ford, or Honda your shit out of luck. Main reason I still haven't put my Pioneer HU in my car is because I cant get a plug local.

Again, there are two different sets of plug from Metra.

71-1743 is the replacement car harness connectors in case some fool cut yours off.
70-1743 is the connect to mate with the factory harness that you use with the cable for an aftermarket radio to make a plug and play adaptor.

did you check best buy? you could order it from crutchfield too... I think their price is a tad better than best buys, and their shipping is relatively quick, assuming you don't order it on a friday.

Awesome... this helps me out. mine was hacked up by a paid installer:notgood: not the previous owners fault, just who he ever took it to to have it done.

Btw, i tried...

Thanks steve, I actually had no clue they made aftermarket radio plugs to fix when someone cuts it off. As for a best buy, I am sure they probably have it, closest one is about 1.5 hrs away. I could have the radio installed and a few beers in me in 3 hrs round trip not to mention setting in the lines and shit in the store.

That being said, I still have a stock H/U because I could give 2 shits about car audio in my dsm. Maybe if I can get a cheap H/U I will put one in my car. But his car had the radio removed and a cut harness. So he was kinda effed.

I live in BFE, and it sucks not having shit closeby. Especially when you come into a car store to order parts for a little four banger.
