ok guys I have been making logger cables for quite some tiem now and every since i put a turbo harness in my car i can not get a logger to work what so ever. I have tried everything. all diff settings in mmcd i got the molded plugin i got another ECU. wiggled wires. about everything I can think of, when the logger is hooked up and the car is running the car wont go past 2500-3000 rpm if you floor it all it will do it just bounce back and forth.

please someone help me.

Danny

Post some more info:

Your cable and logger will work on other cars...so it's definetely something on the car end as opposed to the logger end, right? Anything else?

The RPM's go up past 3k right? But on the logger they get stuck there?

Danny, Please explain what you mean. I assume you did a N/T to turbo swap and now you have problems.

I'm confused too because he said he's concerned he's getting a lot of knock. Don't know how this could be a concern if he can't even get over 3,000 rpms...

ok the car runs fine without the logger hooked up. I sell ,logger cables everyday and no one else is having any problems with them. when the logger is hooked up the car will not go past 3k. I have been disecting my N/T harness and found out the plugin by the right knee is diff on the turbo harness, i figure white wire is sussposed to go to white wire but it's not it's going to a green wire. I looked in my service manuals and it's the plugin where the engine harness connects to the dash and floor harness.

ok guys done some further testing, i cut the connector off my logger cable "one that plugs into the OBD port. I hooked pin 10 and 12 together and it wont rev past 2k. "samething is does when the logger cable is hooked up.

thanks for the replies guys.

I'm sorry, you shorted pins 10 and 12 of the DLC together and the car started acting up?

Please trace DLC pins 1, 10 and 12. Where do they go?

Did you splice wires before when you were talking about the white going to a green wire or is that how the factory wired it?

Steve

ok i will trace the wires but wanna post the rest of this information b/c i think the problem is here. Ok the plugin i was talking about i took some pictures. the N/T dash harness has 14 wires and the turbo engine harness only has 8. here are the pictures.

See the gap 1 wire is not hooke dup and on the N/T harness it goes to the thing on top the Throttle body that has 1 green wire going to it. but not many of the colored wires are matched up.

Location of the plugin, bottom of the console by the drivers foot.

see when N/T harness is connected to N/T harness all the pins are connected to the colors their sussposed to be and take up the whole plugin.

a couple other things i noticed my door locks and power windows wont work unless that is plugged in but the car will still run and with pins 10 and 12 shorted out it will rev fine. but i still dont get a heartbeat or can not get the logger to work.

goin to tear apart the turbo harness now and trace down the wires.

No i did not splice any wires what so ever, that how the factory Turbo hanress connects to the N/T harness. the N/T harness connects white to white when plugged in.

sussposely the harness and motor came out of a 91 eclipse FWD M/T the ECU that came with it was md166260. I got another ECU b/c i thought that one was bad and turned out it wasn't. also the N/T harness was for a AT transmission but i put a Manual transmission in it.

Danny

So basically you have a turbo harness plugged into a NT harness? This CANNOT work properly. Just because the pieces of plastic fit together doesn't mean that pin 12 on the NT harness is for the same function as pin 12 on the turbo harness.

Shouldn't you have to manually match up the wires? I can't imagine it would be so plug and play.

ok Pin #1 is going to pin 64 Check Engine light. Pin #12 goes into a bunch of wires and then heads to the engine bay, also one of the 3 ground wires which bolts to the pass side console. Pin #10 is a green wire after that plugin which goes out to the engine bay also. I'd say thats my problem but........

ok guys i matched up the wires and used the N/T end and VIOLA I'm logging again, Now it's time to go to wal-mart buy them out of electrical tape and tape all this stuff back up again.

again thanks alot for the help.
