my friend is changing the CV axels on his 91 talon AWD Tsi he has the passenger side done BUT on the drivers side there is an intermediate drive axel that needs to be detached with the CV axel in order to take the two apart (accordint to chiltons manual) but the two bolts that are holding the intermediate axel in are impossible to get at without a hoist and i only have a jack.

so if you know of a way to get this done (either by finding a way to get at the bolts better or by doing it in another way) let me know

Ps the passenger side didnt need to be unbolted it just pryed out.

Hi,

I had my car about 10 inches off the ground when I took out my clutch. I was able to get to the two bolts pretty easily, I do remember it being kind of ackward (spelling?) to get to though. I approached it by lying right underneath it and working on it right above my chest. I hope this helps any, I looked on www.vfaq,com for anything, but I could not find anything different.

You don't need a hoist to get those two bolts out. Remove DP and you'll have enough room to wrench. Good luck.
