1g cruise control cable modification

So I traded some parts to a guy on here for a non-cruise control throttle cable, and low and behold he sent me a cruise control unit. He said I can modify this thing to make it a non-cruise cable. I tried searching but I haven't had anything turn up. Does anyone have some insight on this situation?

I would tell him I want a non cruise cable. I'm sure that's what you want it.

Why would you need something you already have, I'd send it back to him and just buy one, they aren't that expensive.
