hi im having trouble with getting my drivers side window to come up straight i looked on vfaq and i found how to repair the switch, did that and now the motor seems to move a little better but it still get sideways trying to come up i cleaned and greased the runners. is there something i can adjust to get the window to come up straight? I'm determined to fix this while my door is still taken apart, and i must say its starting to be a real headache. thanks alot!

well when i lowered the window all the way down i was hearing a clunk like something was loose so i decided to reach my hand in and blindly explore around in there and i felt a bracket sitting on the bottom of it. It looks like this...

Now if I'm not mistaken that should be doing something not just laying around in there does anyone have a picture of where this piece goes? im sure its what is causing my problem now

thats what ive been doing but im determined to be able to drive with one hand at least while im rolling up the window. Im tired of breathing on one hand and holding the window with it and pressing the button with the other and steering with my knees just to roll up a window haha.

have you tried the vfaq switch thing? it helped alot actually and im going to try to use nu vinyl to grease it up so far its kind of worked ill let you know about the nu vinyl stuff tho.

I was actually just looking at that thread i got that piece bolted back on and it slid okay so i went up to ACE hardware and got this silicone lubricant stuff. seems to work really good i can roll up my window with one hand finally!

Here's a picture of the stuff i got to spray in the rubber parts i looked at a few things and this had a picture of a car window on it so i went with that haha

I have this problem too, always wondered what was causing it. Might have to give some of that silicone spray (that is when the cars running again).

I took a small pry bar and spread the front track open. I maybe opened it up 1/8" from top to bottom. It was holding the window too tight and I would always have to pull it up while holding the switch. I works like brand new now! Now I gotta do my other window!

Top of that rail has a plastic clip that is attached to the top of that rear rail, which is then clipped in it's respective hole inside of the door frame which holds the top of the rail in place and keeps the glass aligned when moving the glass up or down by either the manual or electric window regulator.

When that upper clip breaks, that rail loosens and gets things all misaligned for the glass to travel up and down evenly.

With the clip broken, the glass is then pushed forward into the front rail and loves to jam when rolled up, causing the issues in closing the window.

Have to replace that rail that has the new clip in place on top of it. I've found good rails out at yards for pennies compared to purchase price new.
