Here's a list of parts I have set up for my build this is just for the block. Not including any machine work. What do you guys think? Should I change anything or any other suggestions? My goal is 500-600 WHP :hellyeah: I'm pretty much going for a full build, car is stock 90 Talon AWD 177k Miles. Doing block first then Head then Transmission/Drivetrain last.

ACL Race "Tri-Metal" Rod & Main Bearing Set
Connecting Rod: Manley H-Beam
Standard Bore Pistons: Manley 8.5:1
ARP "L19" Headstud Kit
ARP Main Studs
Cometic Head Gasket (1.3mm)
Balance Shaft Eliminator Kit
Kiggly Racing Main Girdle
All ARP Hardware

What do you guys think thanks! :thumb: :talon:

id say thats pretty well the NORAD of build lists. should be able to take a 10 megaton hit directly.

id almost say l19s are over kill, but if you wanna spend them money, go for it. the standard arp studs should be good for up to 35-40 psi, given everything else is in order.

take into account what you want to do with the car and the other equipment youre going to have to run.

should be quite a ride after finished. interested to see the rest of the parts list, good luck! :thumb:

Schalk.. you are right.. I missed it on the read thu.. not enough coffee yet.

Sic... will this be a track only car, or will it see mainly street duty?

I would hold off on the HG untill you have more info on the head you will run.

What fuel do you want to burn? 93? Race gas? E85?

What turbo do you plan and at what boost level?

Why Std pistons? Has the block been checked over?

First off thanks everyone for the replies and thank you bogus for showing your interest/support in helping me out. The car will only be used for drag racing. Street/strip pretty much weekend warrior no DD. I'm still driving the car right now and has not been taken apart yet but the reason I kept everything standard bore was because idk if block will need to be bored out. Most likely ill be running FP DSM82 or 86 on SD set up and 1450's FIC injectors. Also E85.

Well I understand that you would like to go ahead and order the parts and have them on hand.

That is not the best thing to do.

Hold off on the pistons and bearings untill the block is out cleaned and inspected. Same goes for the crank.

At this point you have no idea on what the bores look like or the journals.

The block may need bored and the crank ground.

Best way for the pistons to go is, rough bore block, order/recive pistons, then final hone block to size.

If you just have to start your parts pile, get rods, gaskets, timing belt and other needed parts, oil pump/front case, cams and springs.

But leave the pistons/rings, and bearings and HG untill the machine work needed is done.

Do you recommend anothe brand of rods bogus? Also what if I bought a new eagle crank? Or should the stock crank be able to handle my goals?

There are lots making the power you want on a stock crank.

As long as it all specs out it should be just fine
