alright so a few days ago my brake light came on i believe its low fluid i got to check not my main concern. then last night on my way home from work my engine collant warning light came on along with my carging sytem light. they are dim not on fully. my headlights ddidnt dim or anything i wasnt overheating. i topped off coolant and took my pos battery terminal off and cleaned it up it was crroded a bit. still nothing. now my serp belt for the alt is messed up and needs to be change which i am doing today does that have anything to do with this. or is my lights just going to be on i wanna know the car wont die on me oon my way to work thanks.

Check your voltage at the battery with the engine running to check the alternator. You should be seeing 13.5-14.7 volts on a good charging system. If you aren't seeing 13.5 volts you most likely have a bad alternator.;)

The light thing happened to my car. But my belt and everythin was fine and charged like a beast. What I found was a bad engine ground. The guy that owned the car before me added a ground for some reason. I took it off. Then it started acting up. But after that I did a battery relocation to the back of the car and gave it a good proper ground. So that's one thing to check. That's my 2 cents.

I realize this is an old post, but my car started these same symptoms just yesterday. Seems to only happen cold. Low coolant, battery and brake will come on intermittently and vary in intensity, but all three in lock-step. I haven’t had a chance to work on the car yet, but it starts/drives just fine for at least 50mi since this began. Searched the forums and found this post. Seems like a charging/harness/ground issue, and that’s what I will look for first, but wondering if anyone knows why these three warnings all behave in tandem. As I described, the car doesn’t seem to have low voltage, and the temp gauge showed normal even up over a mountain pass on a warm day, so I believe these are phantom warnings. Hmmm…

When my alternator went kaput, those are the lights that came on for me. :(
