1g awd tranny on 2g 7bolt in a 2g shell???

Will a 1g awd tranny bolt up to a 7 bolt in a 2g, on the way the junkyard and its half off day just wondering if this would be a bad investment, info asap greatly appreciated wont be there for too long

To be sure, PM Twicks69. As I understand it, it'll bolt up to you're engine but the mounts are all in different locations. Good news is some of the important internals are interchangeable upgrades so, it wouldn't be a waste of money at all, as I understand it.

The 2g transmission has the mounts cast into it, while the 1g transmision does not. It will not direvtly bolt into your car. If the guts (as a whole) are swapped, they willl work in your case.

There are different splines on them i believe. So your Transfer case may not fit up with that tranny.

Incorrect. 23 spline Transfer cases were released after the 90's Model. This should mate with later models.

My take is, both 1g and 2g tranny works on the 1g engine, 6 bolt, but 1g tranny doesn't work on 2g 7 bolts.
