1G 1g AWD Megan Racing turbo back (no cat)

Well guys after lots of searching and researching.....

I ended up going with a eBay Megan Racing cat back.

I already used the Megan Racing downpipe years ago and was happy with that.

$450 shipped to my door and it looks great. (For the catback)

Price comparison HKS catback is about $650. But that has a weird flange (~2.7") not a 3" from what I found online. It looks black too.

STM has an awesome looking unit but around $950 I believe.

CC Design Fab makes a few awesome looking kits (and the only test pipe I could find). Kits like $800-$1500 for really good stuff. The test pipe is only $150 and looks great I just could do the lead time right now, so I bought parts and had a buddy weld that for me.

Anywho I ended up with a Megan downpipe, a stainless 3" test pipe my buddy welded for me, and a Megan catback exhaust.

Really happy with how it came out and how it sounds. Heres some pics.

The Megan stuff I'm super happy with the quality and availability with eBay quick shipped and the price it's a little crazy.

Good! I like mine too. Same thing, Megan downpipe and Megan catback combined with a custom made test pipe.
I didn't know Megan still made these pieces for the 1g.

I have the same exhaust on my car. Quality is good for the price and the fitment was surprisingly good.

I hate the smell of catless cars, so I added a cat to the downpipe and extended it to meet up with the catback. My only gripe about the system is the strange offset between the downpipe and catback.

Yeah they don't line up. That we took care of with matching angles in the custom test pipe. Looks like you did something similar with your cat.

Hey cool to see other nice setups using the Megan stuff! It doesn't look like they make the downpipe anymore. I actually found the Megan catback last minute.

And yeah the angle was weird for sure. Easy to make but we had to do it twice first time I mocked it and marked it at home and brought to buddies to weld. Ended up being like 2° off and rubbed the driveshaft when fully tightened.

Took the car to his place and it was easy.


And man you guys got some clean cars! Nice exhaust and under carriage!

My word that's insane! and I thought mine was nice! I love the simple black and silver.

These were from closer to when I did mine. I was young and didn't know about powder coating yet -.- wasted so much time grinding and priming and sealing and painting
