I have a 1991 Mitsubishi eclipse gsx that is auto. I have everything i need to convert it to stick. I have the t14b turbo, manifold, 450cc injectors, shifter, cables, ecu. I have one small problem though. I got a tranny and transfer case from a 91 eagle talon awd. Will this tranny and transfer case fit my car or will there be a problem because of different spline count on tranny? Do I need a tranny from an awd eclipse instead? Someone please help me????

In your list of parts that you have to complete your swap I didn't see rear differential listed. If you have one then your set, if you don't then you will need to get one. Rear differential gear ratios are different in the MT and AT. I did this swap on mine a few weeks ago and it's a pain in the ass, but well worth it.

Just a hint on an easy way to get the rear differential out. 6 mounting bolts in the differential itself, 2 on top, 1 on each side, and 2 on the back. These bolts are TIGHT. On the top 2 bolts, I could not get enough torque to break them loose from underneath the car. If you pull the whole subframe assembly down this isn't an issue but I didn't want to do all that. What I did was eyeball about where the bolts were in relation to the floor of the car. Rear seats were already out so I grabbed a 1" hole saw, drilled 2 holes, dropped the socket (17mm I believe?) and an extension down the hole, put a breaker bar on it and it worked great. When I was done, I used some silicone and a couple 1" hole plugs to seal it back up. Since it is under the rear seat I wasn't too worried about it and besides, mine is a shitbox. LOL

How much you think it will cost me to get one? I don't have one as of this point. I did not know they were different. I guess i have to find someone who is parting one out. Any recommendations? Oh and what do you think was the hardest part about the swap? By the way the does it matter if i use m/t turbo ecu that came off fwd or does it also have to be awd m/t turbo ecu? I am looking for one also but not sure yet what to get.

Not sure on the cost to get one. I would go through the classifieds here, or look on Ebay if it were me. The local junk yard might be helpful in locating one as well.

I think the hardest part of the swap was putting in all of the supporting components for a manual (pedal assembly, shift cables, slave cylinder, etc.). It's not real hard to figure out, just a pain in the ass to get done. Make sure you have something you can cut the firewall with that is somewhat small in size.

Yes you should find yourself a MT ECU. The second ECU looking box (AT box) you can pull out all together. It is down near the main ECU and looks similar.

If you need any supporting pictures or anything, let me know. I can take pictures of mine if needed and send them to you. Good Luck, all the work was worth it. :thumb:
