1G and 2G fuel pumps the same??

Are the 1g turbo and the 2g turbo fuel pumps the same to do a swap??? Same pressure /flow??? Let me know thanks!

from what i understand

mainly from DSMJim

the walbro pumps are the same for the 1g and 2g the numbers are just different install kits

but what i dont understand is that my stock pump (1g) and the walbro 255 gss342 pump have slight differences, the inlet and outlet sides from the two pumps dont match up, maybe a install kit would change that but im to poor to figure it out.
