1G and 2G front differential differences and interchanges?

I'm hoping to make this thread a difinitive front differential guide to help DSMers (myself included) figure out which front diffs fit in which model transmissions. Here's the model list:

'89-92.5 FWD A/T
'89-92.5 FWD M/T
'89-92.5 AWD A/T
'89-92.5 AWD M/T

'92.5-94 FWD A/T
'92.5-94 FWD M/T
'92.5-94 AWD A/T

Thanks for the link. I found that for many of them, the bearings can be swapped to allow a mismatched diff physically fit. The other issue is that there is more than one CV shaft diameter per generation.

For example: A 2g FWD a/t diff will fit a 2G AWD a/t transmission if you swap the bearings, but then the axles won't fit.

I want to say that FWD a/t or manual axles from a 2g the same. Also with a/t and manual awd axles. I know for a fact the 2g fwd's are bigger. 1g-A fwd axle inner cups are the same size as the 90-99 awd.

I'm using a 2g fwd trans in my mirage right now, and I'm swapping a 1g fwd trans this week so I can have equal length axles from the awd.

I put a 2g center diff with 1g input and intermediate shaft and it would bind.
