1g alternator in a 2g

ok this is probly in the wrong section. Anyways Ive have searched and cannot find anything. So any links would be great. Im trying to put a 1g alternator in my 2g. I was wanting to do this because im finally going to have my stereo installed. Anyways I figured a 90amp lifetime warranty, from Autozone would be nice add on. Im wondering has any body done this, and if so how did they go about wiring it up. 1g's have 2 pin plug and 2g's have a 4 pin plug. So if anyone has any info please hit me up

I don't think it would be very smart. First of all I had the same problem and the 1g alternator was on its way out and I had no way of knowing because the 1g has only two wires. What I've learned from Dave and Tom on the DSMLink forums that the 2g ECU controls the voltage the alternator gives out and while I don't really know what will happen if you use the 1g alternator but my car ran like crap when mine was on. Just my $.02

yeah I was thinking 90 amps would be nice. then I was thinking damn 75 amp 90 amp. Ill just get a cap so i dont have to fook with it. Anyways i broke a 1g and a 2g down and ran them back just for fun. Think you could hook it up fine but its gots i believe 2 outputs signals the ecu needs that the 1g doesnt have. I suppose if you could simulate them u could do this but................................
In conclusion to much crap im sticken with the 2g alt
