1G 1g ABS vs non ABS proportioning valve

Just verifying, non abs has 6 ports, 2 on each side and two on the front. Non has only 4, 2 each side. Is this correct?

Yes. Non abs will have six ports since the master cylinder goes directly to it. The abs prop valve only has 4 ports since the master cylinder goes directly to the abs unit.

my buddy just switched his on his gvr4 and the non came off a 1g and had 4 ports

That's great, hope he only plans on running 2 brakes 4 ports isn't enough. Non abs valve has 6 as stated above. You need 6 since there are 4 brakes fed by 2 master Cyl lines.
