Just wanted to make a note about something I noticed during my last rebuild. I was comparing some 2g 7 bolt parts to 1g 7 bolt parts and noticed that the oil pickup tube is actually a little longer (closer to the bottom of the pan) with the 1G.
I don't know if it would make a real difference, but when building a 2G 7 bolt, it might be worth the extra couple dollars to buy a 1g pickup tube and cut off the support (which would otherwise hit the windage tray).
