i was wondering if anyone has done a 1g swap into a 2g nt spyder? i know the swap is normal for 2g turbo's and all. does anyone know a good site for this or atleast some tech. help. i know i need a 2g turbo front motor mount. my other question was do i need to get a 2g turbo ecu or can i use the 1g? also will the 2g spyder mas work for the 1g as an upgrade? and the tranny...will it work with the 1g for my car or will i have to get a 2g turbo one or will the 2.4 tranny bolt up to the 1g? things like that are what confuse me...any help would be AWSOME!!! i'm just a simple newb. and yes i've searched the archives "forums" all around and have come up with things but i want a more technical answer than just some pics. thanks dsmexican05

i know ur asking for advise here, so im just gonna tell u the main points....

Its not worth installing a 4g63 into ur car because everything is different, for one, ull need the COMPLETE wiring harness, which is pretty pricey. then i need the motor and tranny, also somehow change the suspension around. then u need to change where all the motor mounts are and where the crossmember is. then u need to change fuel and all this great stuff, i just told a few things of what needs to be done. now anything can be done, but just with the money factor, its def not worth it. with the money ude be putting into the swap, u could already by a gst spyder and a nice 1g awd. just put that into factor

It is possible you just need to know what your doing....There is a shop that does this swap in California ( Evilboost.com) but they are closed for a while.... you will want a 2nd gen turbo tranny so your guages work and you will need a 2nd gen turbo ECU you want a 1st gen motor and wait untill evilboost opens up so you can send them your wiring harness and a wiring harness from what ever turbo ECU you bought so they can fabricate it...you will also need axels from your tranny basically you need a 1st gen turbo car then som parts from a 2ndgen turbo car...Expect to spend $3000 t or -

# 1 Please speak ENGLISH when you post in this forum (last I checked “ur”, “gonna”, “u”, “ull”… etc, were NOT real words…)

# 2 Make sure that you know something about the subject matter before you make a post. Unlike NT coupes, which used Chryser motors, NT Spyders came with 4G64 MITSUBISHI motors, so converting them to 4G63 Turbo is not all that difficult.

However, why get rid of the perfectly good 2.4 motor when so many people (though, not I) ditch their 2.0s in favor of the larger motor?

If you want more power from your Spyder, you can ether turbocharge your existing motor (using 4G63 turbo components) or rebuild it with lower compression and 4G63 heard/intake/throttle body)
