I can get ahold of a clean low milage 2g motor I'm auto so I don't have to worry about crank walk so I was wounder what would i need to do for it to be used on a 1g car I kno that that I'd have to do a trick for the knock snesor but i could have a machine shop do the 1g oil pump swap I was woundering if there was anything else I'd have to do for the swap

Crank angle sensor and cam angle sensor are the same unit located on the passenger side of the head on 1g cars. On the 2g cars there are actually 2 different sensors. One located at the crank and one at the cam, both of which are on the drivers side.

so how would i go about hookin that up would i just hook one up and leave the other one or what

You can just use the stock 1g cas and don't even install the crank angle sensor. Electrically nothing would need to be done .. the knock sensors are interchangeable as well.

sweets looks like the car will finally be on the road again

Did anyone mention that there will not be the mounting holes for the 1g engine brackets, the 2g's bolt up tp the tranny, so you will need to fab something up to be able to bolt the mounting brackets to the block.

That's a very good point ... I'm not sure how 1g 7 bolts are mounted, but 2gs have 3 trans mounts and only 1 motor mount.

It is a 7 bolt 1g motor, or a 2g motor, if it is a 2g motor than it is not going to work, the 1g 7 bolt mounts exactly like the 6 bolt, but the 2g 7 bolt is totally different. Not going to work. Horrible motor to work with any way. I rebuild lots of dsm motors, and i won't even touch those things for liability reasons. Just get a 6 bolt or a 1g 7 bolt. They ar actually a pretty good motor to work with.

Its actually a 2g motor So u think the mount won't line up so it won't work at all

actually now that I think about it If the motor mounts are different for the two motors then how would the 6bolt swap into a 2g work? because I'd think i'd be similar to that
