1g 2g oil filter adapter housings

Need some information on oil filter adapter housings. I've got a 2g with the production sandwich cooler with no ( that I can see ) inlet and outlet for an external cooler. I believe the 1g filter housing has the ports for an external cooler. What I'd like to do is use the 1g housing on my 2g, use the inlet and outlet ports for a remote cooler and transfer the sandwich cooler to the 1g housing. Can't hurt to have more than one way to take heat from the oil, since the remote doesn't do much when you standing in traffic. I'll be getting into it, just wondered if anyone has experience doing it and any words of caution.

First of all, the 1g ('90 specifically) air-cooled housing doesn't work on a 7 bolt block. With a 7 bolt you either need to use a Evo 3 OFH or an Evo 8/9 OFH.

As for also using the sandwich cooler, I don't see how you could get that to work, nor have I seen anyone try and use both before. There are plenty of people driving around with an air cooler that don't have issues in traffic.

Only the '90 housing has provision for an air/oil cooler, and you can't fit one to your 7 bolt block. What you want is the Evo 3 oil filter housing.

Edit to add: the air/oil cooler DOES work in traffic. It's still a giant heat sink, it just doesn't have air flowing across it, it will still dissipate heat.

Hey, thanks, EVO 3 it is. I was kinda generalizing about the air to water in traffic
haven't forgot my thermodynamics..........yet.
