hello fellow dsm'ers, I am a long time lurker and dsm owner, and decide to have a log for my 1999 Eclipse GSX restoration. I first fell in love with dsm's when I was in middle school, thanks to the famous movie Fast & The Furious. I remember seeing the 2gb chassis and me wanting a turbo car not knowing a all wheel drive platform existed. Fast forward to my freshman year in high school with the help of my parents I purchased my first Eclipse, a 1993 Eclipse GS 1.8 the most basic of them all. At the time I didn't care what model it was, just the fact that I owned an Eclipse was the best feeling. After a few years the 1g stayed parked and i got into the honda scene, after seeing the reputation the hondas where getting i sold my Crx, Civic, Integra and my 1g and purchased my Evo. after owning my high school dream car (evo) I did a mild restoration and and drove it until it broke down (literally) one day after getting out of school a main crank bolt fell out and snapped the crank in 2 pieces. After piecing parts and saving any little spare change I had I was able to get all the parts needed. over 4 years the time came to sell, Having 3 kids and a wife and buying our first home left me with no option but to sell the Evo. later that same year I was searching craigslist to see what sweet deal I would see, and Boom! a 95 eclipse (model not specified) but the engine picture being a 4G63 with no trans for $900.00 was a steal, and I was on the phone immediately asking for more pics. keeping calm and asking the seller questions not giving away the excitement I felt toward this car I asked him to send me a pic of the trunk. Once the picture came down and the 3 beautiful letter badge on the trunk reading GSX had me at his house within 30 min and leaving a 20 dollar deposit on the car for him to hold the following day. After getting the car home my first restoration project began. After owning the car for 2 years and attending 1 Mod event in the 2GA GSX I came across a 1999 Eclipse gsx That a friend purchased from a member on the board. What cought my attention on this vehicle was the attention to detail of savings what seems to be every single receipt and work done on the vehicle. My friend just got it for the Rare black interior that he was wanting and swapped his tan interior and offered the car to me for his purchase price. To me it was great deal and owning a rare car the last year they made and being a rare interior color had mem sold. I did the whole Ricer scene, modified the lug nuts out of your car scene but nothing had me rubber necking like a CLEAN STOCK UNMOLESTED RARE CAR. Call me a old or what ever I consider my self a car purest. Nothing looks better than a all original car still driven on the daily basis creating memories and experiences. Dont get me wrong I LOVE going to IFO and hearing/ seeing the cars fly by and the sweet smell of Q16 just brings back memmories.

Well if you read my long rant, here are the links to my previous cars.

IF ANYONE HAS PARTS THAT WILL HELP MY RESTORATION PLEASE PM ME.
