I’ve recently seen a 99 GSX for sale and would like to acquire it. The owner says the car must be towed because of a bad transmission, but the engine still runs. The bad part is that the car cannot go forward or reverse not even an inch. He claims it might be the transmission fork. I would like to tow it home and fix it, but without moving the car an inch I cannot push the car onto a tow dolly. Is the only part broken is the transmission or are the transfer case and rear differential also broken. If I remove the axles and unbolt the driveshaft, will the car move when pushed?

Same thing happened to my 95 gsx a year after I purchased new and it was bone stock except for intake. Dealer replaced tranny under warranty. It was literally pulling the tow truck when they tried to winch it onto the flatbed.

+1 on Twistaye response. But be careful if you're on an incline since you will not have brakes. Another option is you can call a tow company and explain the situation.
