2G 1999 GSX

Sooo ive been debating on grabbing a 99 GSX or not and ive came to the conclusion that i will(if its still up for grabs in a few weeks) just wanted to see if theres anything i should look forward too, maintenance wise. Whats the upkeep on them? It has 127k miles and is bone stock and very clean inside and out. Ive owned a regular 2g GS in the past so this will be my first "boosted" car. So yeah guys anything i should know upon buying this? besides throwing my money at it haha

First thing first...replace the timing belt,timing belt tensioner, balance shaft belt and tensionerand water pump,headgasket wouldnt be a bad idea., you never know when it has been replaced unless the previous owner has recently done it. Then from there I'd probably give her a full tune up plugs,wires all fluids...then when it's time boost leak test if everything is stock and fix anything that might leak,do a compresion test see how that goes and from there your ready to mod. Of course this is all maintenance and thats where our cars are temperamental but if you treat your car good she will return the favor.

Haha alright so pretty much replace anything that could cause an issue from age/abuse. It's not a good idea but I'm picking it up from a dealership but I'll be able to buy a warranty since it's at 127k miles and what not. But thanks for the reply, I don't really plan on modding it straight away though.
