Hey all. I have owned this 1999 2g gsx for a while now and have been trying to get it running. The man I bought it from did not speak English so I did not get much info other than he "pulled the tune out for his evo". It was a basketcase and a mystery of what it needed as communication was at a minimum. He also said it was running e85. I have cleaned up some things and began trying to start it and it wants to run...sometimes. Not too sure yet but tracing steps to try to figure this out and get the will to get her on the road.

Things I have done so far:
Punishment racing fmic
Meller freeze plugs (2 replaced freeze plugs)
NGK Bpr7es
NGK plug wires
float tested and cleaned injectors (550cc)
New injector seals, o rings, grommets
JM Fab spark plug cover

I have confirmed it is the original ECU to the GSX, meaning it did not have DSM link. Fuel pressure is good at the rail, put fresh e85 with a small amount of 91 per someone who told me it was a good way to clean the fuel lines a little of corrosion from the e85. I have a video of it trying to start; it cranks and tries to idle for about a second and a half then dies. Sometimes it cranks normally and strong and other times it randomly doesn't try to start as well (suspected overheating of starter from my constant cranking or dying battery). Will update when I check a few more things and hopefully get it running.

Are you still trying to still run it on e85 with the stock ecu? It will not run right on e85 without being tuned for it.
