i have posted this problem on ls1.com and cant seem to track down whats going on.

i have found sputtering probelms searching google, and lots of other forums. i have not found any syemptoms that are related to what this car is doing.

yesterday my girlfirends car had a slow start, the battary was going out. take it for a test, sure enough dead cell. so i decide to go ahead with a tune up to make sure it's running well. new plugs gaped to .50, new wires, fuel filter. had a small oil leak at the cam sensor so i replaced the rubber seal with an OEM seal.

this car has been sputtering for about 10,000 miles or so. i drove it for the first time in a long time and it's sputtering at low rpm/take off. i can open the TB blade by hand just kind of blip it and it sputters/stumbles. the engine does not misfire, or idle ruff or run ruff other then when you first hit the throttle it sputters/stumbles and revs fine threw the upper rpms.

i checked the sensors and cleaned them around the TB. i'm going to clean the cam sensor tomarrow or when i can b/c there has been oil leaking from it for a while, it could be dirty.

we once had a CEL for an O2, cleared it with a scanner but never replaced it.

guys thanks in advance, i would like to take care of this problem for her as it's very iffy putting into traffic i dont want this to cause a wreck and get anyone hurt. other then this sputtering it runs really good in the upper rpm range.

Do not bump your thread. Replace the o2 sensor if its throwing a CEL. Obviously your ECU does not like what's going on, hence the reason for it putting that little Check Engine Light. Have you seafoamed the car? Last oil change? When was the last time the Alternator was replaced? Did you checked all fuses? Last time fuel pump was replaced or Injectors? Easy things you can upgrade and eliminate as problems at the same time.

no seafoam, new oil and filter. no CEL. Alt. is charging properly. no bad fuses. never replaced fuel pump or injectors.

i have checked/cleaned/tested.. fuel pump, injectors, fuses, atl., coil pack, sensors around TB and cam, new air filter, fuel filter, plugs wires...

the gap i got from the parts store. said it was .50 it sputtered and what not before the plugs and wires were changed.

it seems to be getting a little wrose and sputtering more in the rpm range. all plugs and getting a good spark.

wires are new. I checked the coil but does not mean that is could'nt be bad.

will tackle this and see what happens...
